About

My name is Bill Spell.  I am an IT recruiter with Volt Technical Resources in Houston, TX.  I started recruiting in 1996 and though I’ve only been with Volt a short time, I’ve been a few other places along the way.

I beleive in transparency throughout the recruiting/hiring process and I beleive in open and honest feedback.  I try my hardest to get info from clients to help people do better interviews the next time around and I always share what I hear with the people I represent.  Sometimes it’s not pretty but ultimately it does help.

I’ve often been told “You’re not like all the other recruiters.”  I take that to mean that I don’t waste people’s time.  I am somewhat of a technology geek myself and I can say without equivocation that I will not bother people with jobs they are overqualified or underqualified for unless they have specifically asked me to.  I also suspect that people appreciate the amount of information I provide prior to interviews.  It is my feeling that the more you know going into an itnerview, the better you will do.  Apparently this is not the prevailing theory espoused by my contemporaries.
